In light of these facts, I created an addendum to my regular catering contract cancellation policy. I ask that you not cancel your events but rather postpone them. You simply cannot imagine how many lives would be helped by knowing that the work is there down the road. My team and I will do all in our power to make events happen as soon as the worst of this passes, and it will pass! Blessings to you and yours for a safe passage through these most difficult circumstances.
To all concerned:
Please consider this addendum as part of your JHD contract effective immediately. If your contract is pending or has already been signed, feel free to add it into that contract.
3/18/2020 Addendum to the Juste Hors D'Oeuvres LLC Cancellation Policy
If the event is cancelled due to one of the following occurrences:
- Facility cancels as a result of a mandate by the local, state or federal government and that closure is a direct result of a demonstrable Coronavirus related issue. - OR -
- The client cancels as a direct result of a demonstrable Coronavirus related issue.
In either of these cases, ONLY, refunds/postponements allowed will be granted based on the following time frames:
- Cancellation occurs 1 month to 4 months prior to the event date: 1/2 of the deposit will be refunded. If there is a credit card being held on file in lieu of deposit payment, the applicable amount would be charged to that card. In such case, the client waives all rights of redress related to that charge.
- Cancellation occurs 3 weeks or fewer prior to the event date: 1/3 of the deposit will be refunded. If there is a credit card being held on file in lieu of deposit payment, the applicable amount would be charged to that card. In such case, the client waives all rights of redress related to that charge.
- However, if the client is willing to commit in writing that the event will be rebooked, at a date mutually agreed to by client and JHD, and said rebooked date is not longer than 8 months from the original date of the event, the full deposit will be applied to that event.
Cancellations or attempted cancellations that do not relate in any demonstrable way to a Coronavirus issue will be enforced by the cancellation policy stated in the agreement and not a part of this addendum.
